It’s hard to feel like you are on the receiving end of the blessings when taking care of others all the time. Part of the weight is the pace and schedule of responsibilities you must keep to get everyone to the doctor, bathe and feed the little ones and the elderly, deal with insurance difficulties, face the anger of the one you are caring for – especially as they slip into their own world, etc. (This list goes on and on.)

I sure do want God’s promises to chase me. What a picture! I am usually chasing after what God has spoken to me. Shift your perspective and see that God’s promises are chasing you. What promises are chasing you?

Hope Tools

Stop running. Let God’s promises catch you. Once you stop running quiet your heart so you can LISTEN to what God is saying to you.

Change your focus

Focus on how much your Heavenly Father truly loves you. Ask Him for guidance and wisdom to begin to see the fulfillment of His promises to you. You will discover how creative and committed He is to surprising you. Be alert for the upgrades He is sending you.

Pray the promise

Nothing builds your faith like taking the scriptures that matter most in your life and praying it back to the Lord. He doesn’t need to be reminded but you do!

God loves to hear what He has promised to do in your life. He is so faithful to keep His promises and will do all that He has spoken.

Begin to live like you believe it. Step out of the shadows into the light of hope so that all who are around you will see His glory and hope radiating from your face.
Select a life verse (for example Psalm 91)
Read it every day and let God speak His promises to you in His own words.

Prayer

(Based on Psalm 91:1-3 – Voice)

Lord, I thank You for Your perspective as the Most High. That means that you see far beyond the overwhelming details and responsibilities that I face as a caregiver. I run to you for shelter and refuge. I draw in close so that I can find a safe place. In Your shadow there is place of rest for me. I thank You for being my shelter. I thank You for being my mighty fortress. I thank You that I can place all my trust in You. I keep tripping over traps that would cause me pain. Thank You for rescuing me from them all. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
