Be joyful in hope. Romans 12:12

Joy is the settled perspective of finding the good in every circumstances based on our hope and peace. Joy is more than happiness because it does not rely on the circumstances. Instead, it is rooted in faith that our Heavenly Father loves us and will provide all that we need. Paul is emphatic on focusing on a decision to find joy in our current situation through the grace of God when he says in Phillipians 4:4 – “Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say, rejoice.”

I like Rick Warren’s definition of joy: “Joy is the settled assurance that God is in control of all the details of my life, the quiet confidence that ultimately everything is going to be alright, and the determined choice to praise God in every situation.”

May your day be filled with joy as you choose to praise God in the midst of the messy details, believe for a good outcome, and find the good in every circumstance.
